Shortly before the new year we're pleased to announce that KUZOCM has earned ISO 9001:2008 certification for its Quality Management System. The recertification was awarded to the company after the representatives of an international certification body „Quality Austria“, namely the company Rostechsert, came and audited the procedures on 14 and 15 December 2009. Our enterprise originally achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2000, and has achieved recertification to that standard annually since then. Based on the extensive audit recently, KUZOCM is now an ISO 9001:2008 certified company.

That is a result of the preparatory work during the whole year 2009 in the course of which the company management, all the divisions supervisors, and internal auditors underwent training.

In the new version of the standard there were made 76 clarifications and modifications. The most important ones concern, among other, the term “Product”. According to the new standard the processes at the end of manufacturing (order, release for delivery to customer) are now to be managed by the manufacturer himself like production. In connection with that all QMS personnel must be competent. ISO 9001 2008 also makes it clear that any QMS task may directly or indirectly influence product quality, so the competence of anyone and everyone who carries out any QMS task must be assured. Additionally, the new standard makes it clear that an outsourced process is still part of the own QMS even though it is performed by a party that is external to the organization. The new standard emphasizes the need to ensure that outsourced processes comply with all customer and legal requirements. While the responsibility for a process may have been outsourced, the organization is, nevertheless, still responsible for ensuring that it meets all customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
